INITIATIVES

Since 2012, he has initiated more than half a dozen projects aimed at the socio-economic development of Kashmir. Some of them are listed below:




MEDIA MAIL is a first of its kind multi-promotional and advertising company in J&K that has in-built infrastructure for delivering the services like indoor & outdoor advertising, Digital and Offset Printing, Designing, Website Development, e-publications, Event Management, PR Management, CCTV Surveillance. It also has exclusive authorisation for Trademark, Patents and Copyrights registration for Kashmir.
It was this Business Plan of Mir Shariq that was awarded at the SKYE Business Plan Competition. Media Mail encourages start-up entrepreneurs and provides them all the marketing and promotional support at subsidized prices.





The Entrepreneur Mail is a resource providing non-profit consultancy and an online magazine that provides entrepreneurs with the information and guidance necessary to build a solid foundation for their business. It also provides aspiring Kashmiri entrepreneurs with the skills necessary to start and/or successfully run a small business. This project is aimed at instilling a culture of entrepreneurship in Kashmir.
This year we are organising ‘Kashmir Entrepreneurship Conclave (KEC) which is going to be the first and largest business conclave in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The top 100 entrepreneurs of J&K are expected to be a part of this conclave.



Kashmir Get Online Initiative is a social enterprise aimed at globalising the brand Kashmir. The initiative is about taking away the barriers that stop small businesses from getting online - by making it quick, easy and affordable.
Under this initiative we deliver fully packed business websites for just Rs. 2999/- ($ 50)
Kashmir Get Online Initiative in the coming 1 year is planning to globalise 1000 Kashmir based SMEs and is in the process of signing MOUs with all the major trading organisations and associations in Kashmir.
This project is an action idea in response to the survey conducted by Mir Shariq under which he found that the high-pricing of websites and online marketing tools hesitate Kashmiri SMEs to get their  business online.



‘I Care for Dal’ is an initiative aimed at restoring the lost glory of Dal Lake and uniting all the organisations working in and around Dal Lake and on the conservation of the fragile environment. Thankfully, during the inaugural ceremony of this initiative a consortium named ‘UNITED DAL & ENVIROMENTAL ASSOCIATION (UDEA)’ was formed. UDEA now has 20 organisations as it members and is representing a population of 85,000- 90,000 people residing in and around Dal Lake.
Mir Shariq heads the organisation as its Publicity Secretary and Treasurer



Kashmir against Eve-Teasing:
Kashmir Against Eve-Teasing is a campaign and network group of activists, academicians, journalists, representatives from civil administration, lawyers and all concerned citizens. This networking group is aimed at empowering the victim and making sure to get the culprit punished on fast-track basis. This group works as a pressure group making sure to put an end to the menace of eve teasing and all heinous crimes against women.
